About SeeMyRank

What this is

SeeMyRank is home to Build the Impossible: a 3D puzzle where you drag floating pieces into the sockets on floating islands until the water flows — against the clock. Twenty-five levels across five worlds, and a daily puzzle that is the same for everyone that day.

Every finished level ends in a global rank: where your time sits among everyone who has played that level. Set a time you like, send it to a friend as a challenge link, and find out whether they are as quick as they claim.

There are no accounts and nothing to sign up for. Your progress lives in your own browser. Open the page and play.

How the ranks are worked out

Ranks are worked out on our server, never in your browser. When you finish, the game sends the moves you made; the server replays them against the same level to confirm the time, and adds time for wasted moves and hints.

That time joins a histogram of everyone’s times on the level — a count per quarter-second, with no names attached — and your rank is where you land in it. A run the replay cannot reproduce is not counted, so the numbers you are measured against were actually played.

Practice runs are checked but never ranked, so a warm-up does not move anybody’s number.

The music

One track per world, all CC0 from OpenGameArt.org: “Up in the Sky” by Memoraphile, “Desert Loop” by iamoneabe, “Heavenly Loop” by isaiah658, “Icy Realm (Seven and Eight)” by cynicmusic, and “Outer Space Loop” by wipics. Thank you, all five.

The chess pages

SeeMyRank began as a chess site, and those pages are still here at their own addresses: type a Chess.com or Lichess username and see your percentile in each time control, and what your rating is worth on the other site.

Their numbers come from Lichess, whose database exports are CC0, the Chess.com published-data API, FIDE’s monthly rating lists, and Wikidata (CC0) for titled players’ real names. SeeMyRank is independent: it is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Chess.com, Lichess or FIDE.

Player pages are built on demand from public profiles, carry a noindex instruction and are left out of the sitemap. If you would rather your username did not resolve here, say so at the address below and it will be blocked.
