What 800 actually means
Most accounts sitting at 800 have not been there long. This is where a new player lands after their first handful of rated games, and it is the least stable number on the board: a provisional rating moves hundreds of points in a week because the system is still guessing at you. If you have been here a while and it is not moving, that is the more interesting fact about it.
